Waste Management at ABP

The environmentally sound management and disposal of waste has become an extremely important issue to the ports industry. ABP's ports are, at the very least, in line with industry expectations, if not actually ahead of legislation and standard practice.

Vessels are required to provide their destination port with prior notification of their onboard waste. Vessels have to discharge their waste at the port and must also pay a mandatory fee to contribute towards the costs incurred by the port authority in providing waste-reception facilities.

Vessels heading for ABP's ports should inform ABP of the waste they intend to land through a dedicated website, www.abpnotify.co.uk.
